Ph.D. student Gilad Sofer – Received the Excellence award in Mathematics
My research deals with objects called quantum graphs – these are models which describe the behavior of a quantum particle in a network of conductors. In my thesis, I studied how the energies of the particle change as you vary certain properties of the graph. I also studied how this change of energies is related to the wave function which describes the particle’s state.
