We are happy to introduce Jonathan Fhima, a graduate student who has recently been honored with the esteemed Lior Merkin Memorial Award for his achievements in Mathematics.
Jonathan’s research, within the framework of the interdisciplinary program in Applied Mathematics, supervised by Professor Joachim Behar and co-supervised by Professor Moti Freiman from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, focuses on mathematical models applied to ophthalmology . In particular, he examines retinal fundus images to predict biomarkers in order to estimate potential risks of cardiovascular diseases.
