MSc program
Admission
- To be considered for the Applied Math program graduate studies, candidates must have a minimum average score of 87 in their undergraduate studies, which includes the mandatory courses of the applied undergraduate mathematics track (https://math.technion.ac.il/en/applied/) or equivalent courses. Candidates whose average score falls between 84-87 may still submit their candidacy for consideration by the committee for the Applied Math program graduate studies. In some cases, students who have not completed the mandatory courses may be accepted as “A student in the process of completion.”
- As part of your application, we would like to get to know you better beyond the data presented in your transcripts.
Please attach a short document (up to one page) in which you address the following points:
- Your Interest in the Program: Why are you interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, and why specifically in our program?
- Areas of Interest: What specific topics or research areas are you most passionate about? If there are faculty members affiliated with the program whose research aligns with your interests, we encourage you to mention them.
- Relevant Background and Experience: Please describe any relevant experience you have that is not reflected in your grades. This could include: significant undergraduate projects, relevant work experience, participation in research, advanced courses you have taken independently, programming competitions, or other activities that demonstrate your skills and commitment.
This statement gives you a voice beyond the list of grades. It is your opportunity to highlight your strengths and help us evaluate your suitability for our program. We read every statement carefully.
