Candidates with a research master’s degree from the Technion or from a recognized academic institution from Israel or abroad, whose grade point average and the grade in the thesis do not fall below 80, can submit their candidacy.

Ph.D. candidates are required to find a supervisor before applying and submit two letters of recommendation (one of the letters should be from a supervisor for the master’s thesis).

External candidates (non-scholars) who wish to be accepted for a doctoral degree are required to submit a research plan approved by the graduates’ studies committee in the Faculty of Mathematics, in the plan it will be noted that the candidate will devote at least three days a week to his research at the Technion or outside of it. In some cases, an employer/army certificate, etc., must be attached. All of the above is subject to the approval of the committee for advanced degrees at the Faculty of Mathematics.
