Abstract:  Integer points in the FFLV polytopes are responsible for the monomial bases in representations of the special linear Lie algebras. The polytopes can be identified with certain chain polytopes and have to do with the geometry of the classical Grassmann varieties. We will recall the setup and show that the above mentioned results admit a lift to the closures of the graphs of the birational maps from projective spaces to Grassmannians.
