A group of students from the Technion was ranked 36th in imc-math – the international championship in mathematics for students. University College London organized the championship, which took place at the American University in Bulgaria between July 31 and August 6.
The Technion joined the championship in 2021 at the initiative of Prof. Rom Panhassi from the Faculty of Mathematics, and this year, the team was accompanied by a graduate of the Faculty, Nitzan Tor.
According to group member Tom Vaknin, the preparation for the competition is conducted as part of the course “Puzzles and Mathematics,” during which the students solve many mathematical puzzles from different fields.
